Sormano is a municipality in the province of Como and belongs to the Comunit\u00e0 Montana del Triangolo Lariano (a specific mountain community of the area).<\/p>\n

It has a population of 638 individuals, and it covers an area of 11 sqm.<\/p>\n

is characterized by the presence of significant historical and cultural heritage (the church of St. Mary<\/p>\n

of Dicinisio embellished with an important panel painting from the late 15th century, the oratory<\/p>\n

of San Rocco in Gem\u00f9, the oratory of the Crucifix at Lavello and in Mudronno the ancient oratory of Ss.<\/p>\n

Nazaro and Celso) and for environmental and landscape resources (suggestive especially for speleologists<\/p>\n

is the Hole of Niccolina, Pian del Tivano). Sormano has achieved celebrity for many decades<\/p>\n

in the cycling environment due to the presence of the Sormano Wall. For years, the municipality has been directly<\/p>\n

The municipality owns the Astronomical Observatory and has always been involved in the management<\/p>\n

and enhancement of this facility, with the understanding that the observatory constitutes a resource<\/p>\n

for local development, a garrison for land protection. The realization of the present<\/p>\n

project will make it possible to improve the usability and accessibility of the Observatory with the possibility of<\/p>\n

to increase visitor attendance; to implement new educational initiatives to<\/p>\n

schools, other popular activities for astronomy enthusiasts and the general public;<\/p>\n
