The Brianza Astrophilic Group is a nonprofit cultural association established in 1984<\/span><\/p>\n

On the initiative of a group of people who are passionate about astronomy with purposes of 1) management<\/span><\/p>\n

of the Sormano Astronomical Observatory; 2) scientific research, encouragement and improvement<\/span><\/p>\n

Of studies and research in the field of astronomy; 2) popularization of astronomical sciences<\/span><\/p>\n

through guided tours and themed lectures. Since its establishment, the association has been committed<\/span><\/p>\n

in scientific research and observation of minor bodies in the solar system, succeeding in discovering,<\/span><\/p>\n

In January 1989 the \"1989 AC (4179) planet Toutatis\" and later other new planets<\/span><\/p>\n

minor and dmore than 100 new asteroids by publishing astrometric measurements. Special attention<\/span><\/p>\n

is dedicated to popularization, with didactic-educational activities for students, the organization<\/span><\/p>\n

of guided tours, conferences and lectures open to the public, thus contributing to the<\/span><\/p>\n

The Association has transnational collaborations with various astronomical observatories not<\/span><\/p>\n

only in Europe but all over the world with excellent results of collaboration with the prestigious<\/span><\/p>\n

Minor Placet Center USA, so much so that it is one of the few amateur observers to be linked<\/span><\/p>\n

Improving the usability, receptivity and reception of the new observatory to accommodate the most<\/span><\/p>\n

and ever-increasing number of visitors. It is estimated to increase from the current 10,000 visitors per year<\/span><\/p>\n

to about 50,000, with significant spillovers and economic benefits for local development and business<\/span><\/p>\n

premises such as restaurants, hotels, stores, services, etc. Having a modern, larger facility<\/span><\/p>\n

and complete in all services capable of much better accommodating the many schools,<\/span><\/p>\n

oratories, private groups for outreach, educational, etc.; to increase activities<\/span><\/p>\n

of scientific research; to organize more training courses, events<\/span><\/p>\n
